KIND OF WORK: This is responsible and confidential work providing peer support services in a variety of settings to include teaching and modeling the value of the individual recovery experience. Assisting in identifying recovery and wellness goals. Assisting individuals with developing coping skills, communication skills, and social skills. Planning and conducting peer-engagement, peer support and aftercare groups as scheduled by the program. Recording and documenting patient’s progress and participation in group and individual sessions. Carrying out support services as prescribed in the treatment plan. Coordinating patient logistics by assisting in patient departure to include arranging transportation, following along with patients for temporary visits, discharges and appointments. Working with social workers and discharge staff members, community peer specialist to help individuals transition to the community.

We are having an Action Planning for Prevention and Recovery (APPR) class starting July 9th! During this FREE course you will learn how to recognize your signs and symptoms of a relapse and create custom plans to overcome a crisis. We will meet once a week for 2 hours.
