The RESPECT Initiative of Alabama, created by mental health advocate Joel Slack, helps participants develop the skills necessary to transform their experiences of mental health or substance use challenges into inspirational and educational presentations.

R.O.S.S.

The Recovery Organization of Support Specialists (ROSS) seeks to further develop and advance the role of Recovery Support within the community while promoting the right of self-determination and personal responsibility in individuals pursuing recovery.

The Recovery Organization of Support Specialists aims to advocate, empower and collaborate for any individual seeking recovery.

SAM Foundation

The mission of the SAM Foundation is to prevent suicide through public awareness and education by equipping our communities with the skills to intervene in a suicidal crisis. Our hope is to change the way our communities view mental health and serve as a resource to those who have been affected by suicide, therefore making our communities more suicide safe.

NAMI Alabama

NAMI Alabama’s mission is to ensure affiliates have the capacity to provide quality support and education for those affected by mental illness, and advocate at all levels of government and the public sector for increased funding, services, support, and research for mental illness.
